Alaska and HawaiiWhen will you ever have such a wonderful opportunity to explore both our 49th and 50th states on the same trip?  Everything is taken care of for you as you enjoy the pristine beauty of Alaska plus the luscious beauty of Hawaii.  During this Interlude you will revel in the vastness of Denali and take part in a virtual climb. Have you ever dined in a historic airplane hangar?  That’s the site for a delightful dinner with Base Camp Annie. And…if that wasn’t enough, you will spend the evening with Star Lady for stargazing and an aurora presentation. Oh the stars you can see when in Alaska!

Like a little excitement: How about a race into Class IV and Class V whitewater to explore a US designated Wild River while aboard a comfortable, enclosed watercraft. A truly unique and fun experience!  Then you get to spend the day in Denali National Park where you will indulge yourself in the beauty of the changing fall colors and view wildlife in the park. Moose Creek is home to the Kantishna Roadhouse where a hearty Alaskan lodge meal will be served before you choose which optional activity you want to enjoy. It’s all fun and completely out of ordinary…and deliciously different.

The train ride back to Anchorage is a real treat and one to be savored and enjoyed before you switch gears to begin your Honolulu experience.  This evening, you will be welcomed with Aloha and dine on fantastic Polynesian Fare in an open air beachfront setting as you watch the sun drop off into the blue Pacific.  What a day this will be – sunrise in Alaska and sunset in Hawaii – can it possibly get any better than that?

You all know the significance of December 7, 1941 – “The Day of Infamy”.  While in Honolulu you’ll enjoy a Deli Style Lunch with a WWII Historian at the USS Missouri Battleship and then a docent guided walking highlights tour of this enormous battleship. This is a terrifically interesting and informative way to “feel” the sacredness of this shrine celebrating the brave military who gave their lives for us on that fateful day.

Your final day begins with a narrated city tour and a docent guided tour of the only Royal Palace on American soil.  The Palace was the official residence of Hawaii’s Monarchy and has been restored to its original opulence. While here you will gain insight into the kings and queens of Paradise and learn a lot about their culture. More touring through lush tropical rain forests, rocky cliffs and the incredibly blue Pacific are planned as you enjoy the Eastern Shore.

This Interlude concludes with the traditional Hawaiian party where you are most likely going to enjoy doing the hula, savoring traditional Hawaiian foods, music, entertainment and gracious island hospitality.  It’s time to see what needs to be seen and do what needs to be done in our 49th and 50th states.  Please read the complete itinerary and make your reservations to enjoy the awesome beauty and diversity that is just waiting to be experienced!
